Sited at the edge of a meadow, surrounded by woodland, there could be no position more perfect for a shepherd’s hut of this style.
We were approached by Ted to design and build a shepherd’s hut that would serve as an idyllic rural guest room with a rustic feel. Sited at the edge of a meadow, surrounded by woodland, there could be no position more perfect for a shepherd’s hut. The remote location where the hut is sited, served as inspiration for both the interior and exterior of the build.
Ted was looking for a hut that would blend in with its surroundings. Inside the hut we built a custom-made double bed, more than triple the normal height of a shepherd’s hut bed. This created a cosy element that Ted wanted to achieve, as well as, generous storage space beneath. The interior is also home to a wood burning stove and bench-seating, making this the perfect space for guests to come and appreciate the stunning views. Ted wanted to make the most of the location of the hut and has done so by placing a small fire pit outside, making it the ideal place for an evening picnic and sharing a bottle of wine.
What better way for friends and family to spend a cosy weekend away in the country; enjoying time together, relaxing, appreciating the stars and the beautiful surroundings?
